A partner in the South Australia/Northern Territory corporate team, Lachlan is an experienced practitioner who specialises in corporate and commercial law.
Lachlan advises and acts for clients in the infrastructure, construction, manufacturing, tourism and leisure sectors. His particular areas of focus include mergers and acquisitions, disposals, projects and project finance, public private partnerships, company and trust law, and taxation.
In addition to his extensive work in the private sector, Lachlan acts for various public sector clients and advises Northern Territory Government agencies on a range of infrastructure projects, including those related to indigenous communities. He understands the key drivers affecting government and the transparency, accountability and probity issues that apply to public projects.
Lachlan is admitted in South Australia, New South Wales and Queensland, and is also admitted to the High Court of Australia. He has presented various papers on major contracting and procurement models, including alliance contracting and early contractor involvement.

Lachlan is a trusted adviser to company management and boards, advising on a wide range of strategic and day-to-day issues, including drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, business structuring, due diligence, risk management, directors' duties and corporate governance.
Lachlan’s property practice encompasses projects in all of the major sectors including the commercial, industrial, tourism and public property sectors. He advises in relation to property transactions and property development projects and regularly acts in relation to the acquisition, development, leasing and disposal of property.
In dealing with public infrastructure projects Lachlan brings together his technical expertise, major projects experience and strong understanding of the specific issues affecting government initiatives.
As lead advisor for the Strategic Indigenous Housing and Infrastructure Program, Lachlan provided strategic input into the policy surrounding extension of urban public housing to remote communities. This program was one of the most complex initiatives ever undertaken by the Northern Territory Government and involved significant negotiation and interaction with the private sector and high levels of government. As a result of this experience, Lachlan has an extensive knowledge of land tenure issues in remote communities, and a detailed understanding of the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act and the Northern Territory National Emergency Response Act.
