Mark Birrell |Special Counsel

Mark Birrell is the national leader of Minter Ellison's Infrastructure Industry Group. He works in the fields of infrastructure, project management and finance.

A trusted corporate adviser, Mark has significant strategic and public policy experience. He is the Chairman of Infrastructure Partnerships Australia, the nation's peak infrastructure body.

Mark was Minister for Major Projects and then Minister for Industry, Science and Technology in Victoria, with an extensive background in capital works projects, public-private partnerships and industry programs.He oversaw landmark initiatives like Docklands and the 'Agenda 21' capital works, and served on Cabinet Committees for such projects as CityLink and the energy privatisation program.

Mark also has deep experience as a non-executive director and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
