Sophie Carman (Partner, South Australia) has a 14 year specialist practice in statutory insurance and workers compensation.
Over the years, she has acted for numerous self-insured employers in South Australia in the management of their workers compensation claims and liabilities.
Sophie currently acts for the WorkCover Corporation and its claims agent, Employers Mutual Limited as well as for various self-insured employers, including Inghams, Carter Holt Harvey and Myer Holdings Ltd.

Sophie has advised WorkCover and its agents, and various self-insured employers, on workplace compensation matters since commencing practice almost 14 years ago. Sophie provides advice and representation on individual disputes lodged by workers and employers at both conciliation and judicial level. Her experience covers all areas of the Act including work capacity reviews, rehabilitation disputes, lump sum entitlements, and entitlements to dependents following the death of a worker. She is also responsible for the supervision and training of junior solicitors in the workers compensation team.
