My main area of practice involves advising on finance for property acquisitions, developments and refinancing, including undertaking due diligence of the development documents including construction and other contracts and pro-forma presales contracts and agreements for lease and lease.

I provide front-end structuring, asset realisation, due diligence and security enforcement advice to a number of major banks with interests in financing/refinancing retail, residential, industrial, commercial and rural property assets. I also have extensive experience in enforcement of securities, including undertaking due diligence review of securities and advices to mortgagees and receivers and managers in connection with validity, enforcement and asset realisation issues.

  • Acting for a syndicate of financiers on secured syndicated and transactional facilities to a leading short term stay operator, and acting for financiers to management rights operators generally.
  • Advising on various land acquisitions and developments including development facilities for residential, industrial and commercial projects, including among others government office accommodation in Orange NSW, Oceanside development at Birtinya, The Rhythm on Beach at Maroochydore, Emporium and Southpoint at Southbank, Lume at Kangaroo Point, CBD buildings including Q&A Centre, Yamanto Central Shopping Centre in Ipswich, Serenity Cove project at Gold Coast.
  • Acting for a number of domestic and foreign banks on the provision of significant secured loan facilities against various shopping centres across south east Queensland owned by a large private group.
  • Acted for a borrower in connection with development and financing of its student accommodation portfolio.
  • Acted for leading aged care operator in connection with development finance and letter of credit facilities and provision of security under a security trust structure to club banks for its retirement and aged care portfolio.
