Our Hong Kong CEI team advised Las Vegas Sands Inc (LVSI) on the US$240 million Sands Casino in Macau. The Sands opened in record time and was the first casino to be built in Macau since competition restrictions were lifted.
Teams from the Corporate, Projects and CEI groups are all now working for LVSI on the US company's development of the US$ multi billion Cotai Resort in Macau, which has already been nicknamed Asia's Las Vegas.
When the first phase was completed in 2007, the Cotai Resort featured multiple 1500 room resort hotels, showrooms, shopping malls, world-class restaurants, entertainment facilities and other attractions. Each resort hotel is owned by an 'insurer' and operated by recognised international brand hotel operators and LVSI will operate a casino within each resort hotel complex.
A signature feature of the 80 hectare development is the Las Vegas style 'Strip' linking the tropical gardens, water falls, parks, hotels and LVSI's anchor development, the US$ 1.8 billion Venetian Macao, a 3000 suite luxury hotel, casino and convention centre complex. The construction team is worked with LVSI on the construction contracts for the Venetian Macao and all other construction-related aspects related to the Cotai Resort.
