We advised PetroChina - China's largest, and the world's second largest producer of oil and gas - on its development of three LNG terminals and its procurement of LNG into China. This involved drafting and negotiating the LNG Sale and Purchase Agreement and ancillary documentation.
This was a complex deal, which required innovative structuring to enhance the robustness of the LNG supply chain.  As the the seller's project was greenfield, it had to be financed on a limited resource basis. The buyers' three terminals were also greenfield projects, as were the LNG ships.
