Biography
Matthew is a partner in our Melbourne Corporate group. His areas of expertise include mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital, trade sales, insolvency work outs and divestments, corporate restructures, joint ventures, capital raisings and advising on corporations and securities laws.
Matthew has represented organisations on transactions in multiple jurisdictions in the Asia Pacific and has experience in a broad range of industry sectors in the region including agribusiness, financial services, energy and resources, infrastructure, mining and metals, transport and logistics, real estate and TMT.
Prior to joining the Melbourne Corporate group, Matthew spent a number of years in Hong Kong as a partner in our Greater China Corporate practice. He continues to advise Australian corporations and investors in formulating business strategies for Asia (particularly China) and advises Asian investors on their investments in Australia.
Matthew has been recognised as a leading lawyer for corporate and M&A in Hong Kong by Chambers Asia in 2009 and 2010 and by Asia Pacific Legal 500 (2009/2010 edition) for M&A and Private Equity in Hong Kong.
