Biography

Bart is a partner in our corporate group, practising extensively in all aspects of companies and securities law. This includes CLERP, company formations, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, capital and debt raisings, collective investments and trusts, investment structures and developing and advising on various forms of synthetic securities and futures contracts.

He has also acted in numerous equity and debt raisings. His wealth of experience in this area includes coordinating due diligence inquiries for these listings and ensuring compliance with all Corporations Law matters.

Bart's major clients are public and private companies, stockbrokers and financial institutions, both Australian and overseas based. His client base includes Goldman Sachs JB Were, Computershare, Computershare Investor Services, Circadian Technologies, SPC/Ardmona Ltd, Spotless Group, Pratt Group, Strategic Pooled Development, Village Roadshow Limited, Australian Leisure & Hospitality and CPI Group Limited.

Bart is admitted to practice in Victoria, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory and Queensland. He is also a former part-time lecturer in the Masters of Law subject The Law of Company Takeovers at Monash University, Australia.

He holds membership with the Australian Securities Lending Association, the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Taxation Institute of Australia.

Bart's expertise is recognised by publications such as Chambers Global 2006 (where he is named as a leading Australian corporate lawyer) and Asia Pacific Legal 500 (2005/2006 edition).
