With particular expertise in work health and safety and industrial relations, I advise clients about the full range of workplace legal issues. I have acted for some of Australia's largest employers across a range of industries on the most complex and high-stakes workplace matters.

I assist clients manage workplace safety incidents, including in the moments following a safety incident through to advising in relation to subsequent investigations and prosecutions. I also have extensive experience advising companies and boards on their work health and safety obligations.  

I also regularly advise clients about industrial relations matters, ranging from assisting in managing complex industrial disputes, enterprise bargaining matters, and the interpretation of industrial instruments.  

In addition to advising about safety and industrial law issues, I have extensive experience in advising on all forms of employment law matters. I assist with clients to manage the most sensitive employment-related issues. I also regularly act for clients in employment-related litigation, including the enforcement of post-employment restraints, breach of contract, unfair dismissal, adverse action and discrimination claims.

Career highlights

  • Being the trusted adviser to a leading tier 1 construction company in relation to fatalities and other serious work health and safety incidents at construction sites in NSW and the ACT. 
  • Regularly advising clients in a broad range of industries, including retail, stevedoring, pharmaceutical, warehousing, telecommunications, banking and finance industries (among others) in relation to enterprise bargaining and related industrial relations matters. 
  • Advising Woolworths' distribution centre network about enterprise bargaining and industrial relations matters. This included advising in relation to multiple sites concurrently taking industrial action and obtaining good faith bargaining orders to disband unlawful picketing. 
  • Acting for a large multi-national client on significant transformation projects involving widespread workforce changes at various sites across Australia,  leading to a number of complex safety and industrial legal issues.   
  • Advising Optus for a number of years in relation to the negotiation of various enterprise agreements and providing associated industrial relations advice.  
  • Advising a number of clients and their boards in relation to their officer work health and safety due diligence obligations, and establishing work health and safety systems and frameworks, including conducting work health and safety audits. 
  • Advising a number of large corporations in relation to remediation and payroll compliance projects.
