Anna Lyons
Special Counsel, Melbourne
I have extensive experience designing and managing pro bono programs, including in collaboration with community legal centres, and I assist in leading MinterEllison's pro bono practice for individual clients.

I support clients with legal issues including tenancy, financial assistance for victims of crime, and infringements. As a member of MinterEllison's Social Impact Practice team, I advise on the establishment and governance of not-for-profit organisations. I have a particular interest in how technology, including AI, can be used responsibly to expand access to justice and increase the impact of pro bono work.

My approach to pro bono work is deeply informed by my years of working with, and learning from, colleagues in community legal centres and the broader community sector. Prior to joining MinterEllison in 2020, I was the principal lawyer of Justice Connect's Not-for-Profit Law service. Since joining MinterEllison, I have completed secondments with the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service, Justice Connect and Fitzroy Legal Service. I have regularly appeared for clients in matters in the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal and Magistrates' Court of Victoria.
