Career highlights

  • Anglo American - Assisting with advising Anglo American on all tax aspects of its divestment of its Australian steelmaking coal portfolio for US$3.875 billion. 
  • North American Construction Group - Negotiating tax aspects of the transaction documents for the A$120 million acquisition of Iron Mine Contracting, a diversified mining services contractor headquartered in Western Australia. 
  • Metrics Credit Partners - Structuring and advising on income tax aspects of several property development joint ventures including One Pacific Highway, Gold Coast's largest single lot industrial area and the A$1.8 billion Kings Bay Village Project. 
  • PNB Consolidated - Advising on all tax aspects of its A$120 million acquisition by publicly listed Japanese manufacturer and distributor, Lion Corporation. 
  • Energy and resources company - Assisting with the representation in relation to a multi-year review and audit by the ATO on deductibility of expenditure with potential claim adjustments in the range of US$477 million across two taxpayer entities and successfully resolving the matter by settlement. 
  • Albemarle Corporation - Assisting in advising lithium giant Albemarle's US$1.3 billion acquisition of a 60% interest in Mineral Resource Limited's Wodgina Lithium Project on a range of corporate tax and Western Australian duty issues. 
  • Salter Brothers - Advised on establishment of several hotel and retreat funds and co-investment with GIC of Singapore, including the Tuckerbox portfolio of Travelodge sites and the acquisition of the Spicers collection.
