I appear for clients as an advocate before the court as well as at mediations and settlement conferences.

I enjoy the challenge of litigation. In particular, I enjoy considering and recommending strategies to my clients at an early stage of litigation to take into account assessed risks and exposure. This is done with a consideration of my clients' needs and aims.

In addition to litigation work, I provide insurance coverage advice and collaborate with other teams to provide specialist insurance advice as required.

Career highlights

• Acting for numerous solicitors and barristers in proceedings against them including:
  • a solicitor who successfully had proceedings against him dismissed because the claimant failed to provide security for costs as ordered;
  • a mid-tier firm of solicitors who were alleged to have engaged in malicious falsehood; and
  • a firm of solicitors joined as a third party to Supreme Court of Victoria proceedings in respect of a dispute regarding the sale of real property.
• Defending real estate agents in claims where they are alleged to have engaged in misleading and deceptive conduct and/or breached their duty of care to their former clients.
• Acting for construction professionals in proceedings in the Building and Property List at VCAT and the Technology Engineering and Construction List at the Supreme Court of Victoria.
• Representing an insurer in respect of an indemnity dispute.
• Acting for pro-bono clients, and achieving results for them that they may not have been able to achieve without legal representation.
