Taking a stand against domestic violence
Minter Ellison has taken a clear stand against domestic violence as part of the firm's Community Investment Program. This focus, and an initiative pioneered by our firm in Brisbane, was recognised in 2005 with an Australian Prime Minister's Business-Community Partnership Award.
Since 2003, our offices in Brisbane have served as the headquarters of Australia's CEO Challenge, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to creating partnerships between businesses and women's refuges.
When asked why Minter Ellison first became involved with Australia's CEO Challenge, Denis Gately, a consultant in the Brisbane office, said that the partnership "allows us to make a direct and meaningful contribution to systemic change in the community".
On the Gold Coast, our firm has established a partnership with local women's refuge, Majella House, while in Melbourne, partner John Steven is an Ambassador for the White Ribbon Foundation.
And in New Zealand, the firm partners with Women's Refuge in Auckland and Wellington.
