Environmental sustainability

MinterEllison is committed to transitioning our own operations with a target of net zero scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions by 2030, and an interim target for all our offices to operate on renewable electricity by 2025

Our Emissions Reduction Strategy sets out our path to NetZero 2030. This strategy is aligned with our Responsible Procurement Policy and ensures that in all aspects of our operations MinterEllison focuses on sound environmental practices, minimising our use of resources where possible and maximising our re-use of resources. We are committed to continually measuring our impact on the environment working with specialist GHG consultants.

A key milestone on our path to Net Zero 2030 was achieving Climate Active certification in July 2023. This certification reflects that we are a carbon neutral organisation with a clear, actionable emissions reduction strategy now in place.

MinterEllison is recognised for its leadership in advising clients on climate change and the transition to a low-carbon economy. We continue to use our leading expertise in this area to support our clients across all industries in that transition.

"Climate Active certification is an important milestone on our path to NetZero 2030. Our work to achieve carbon neutrality and year on year emissions reductions will ensure we reach our target by focusing on the areas of greatest impact." MinterEllison, July 2023 Climate Active certification

In addition to our Climate Active certification we are also members of the Australian Legal Sector Alliance (AusLSA) and participate in regular AusLSA roundtables sharing best practice and insights relevant to our industry. We continue to report annually on the major activities we take toward the reduction of carbon emissions. AusLSA's mission is to work collaboratively to promote sustainable practices across the legal sector. MinterEllison has continued to strive to reduce, recycle, and reuse during the years under review.
