Reconciliation Australia defines reconciliation as “strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous peoples, for the benefit of all Australians.” This principle underpins our approach.

At MinterEllison, reconciliation is a shared responsibility and fundamental to our culture of inclusion. Our third Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP3), endorsed as a Stretch RAP, builds on the strong foundations of our first two RAPs and the many years we have supported First Nations communities through pro bono legal work, community partnerships and advocacy.

RAP3 reflects our commitment to creating meaningful, lasting change through three interconnected priorities:

• Relationships – deepening partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and communities, including in rural, regional and remote areas.
• Respect – fostering cultural safety and awareness across our firm and networks.
• Opportunities – supporting economic participation through education, training, mentoring and procurement, and creating pathways for employment and business growth.

We recognise that economic empowerment is essential to closing opportunity gaps. By applying our legal and governance expertise in partnership with First Nations organisations and clients, we help create practical solutions that support community led ambitions and sustainable outcomes.
