In a practice that spans the construction, energy and resources, mining and metals, oil and gas, government, and infrastructure sectors, Cris’s areas of expertise include: projects and project finance; public private partnerships; insolvency and reconstruction; arbitration; adjudication and mediation; litigation and dispute resolution; defamation and media advice; and Native Title.

An experienced procurement and contracts lawyer, Cris documents 'front end' contract formation for project procurement and provides 'back end' representation for parties in construction and engineering dispute resolution. Cris is also regarded as the pre-eminent ‘Security for Payment’ lawyer in the Northern Territory, having assisted in the drafting of the relevant legislation and acted in 90% of claims that have been adjudicated in the Northern Territory.

Named as one of Australia's leading litigation lawyers by Best Lawyers Australia 2010 and 2011, Cris is currently representing John Holland in relation to the $20M Alice Springs Hospital construction dispute. Construction

Cris has worked on many of the largest property, construction and engineering projects and disputes to have taken place in the Northern Territory over the last decade. His practice in this area includes acting for developers, construction clients and government bodies in relation to major infrastructure developments. For example, Cris acted for the developer of Darwin's largest residential tower and for the Northern Territory Government in procurement and tender processes associated with the Tiger Brennan Highway and East Arm wharf extension.
Energy and Resources

Cris has a wealth of experience working with large and small resource clients including, Rio Tinto (ERA), Xstrata, MacMahons, Australian Pipeline Trust, and Sweetpea Petroleum, and advises many in the sector on construction and commercial matters. Recently Cris assisted a Chinese client to acquire a stake in a Northern Territory resource company that included mining interests held in South Africa.
