Biography
Russell is internationally recognised as one of Australia's leading competition (antitrust) lawyers in Chambers Global, Best Lawyers and Which Lawyer.He has an active practice handling competition clearances for domestic and international mergers and managing immunity applications (including authorisations) to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC). He has appeared as counsel before the Australian Competition Tribunal. Russell is a private sector adviser to the International Competition Network.
Russell has authored Miller's Annotated Trade Practices Act, 30th Edition (ThomsonReuters 2009), a leading reference text, and Miller's Competition Law and Policy (ThomsonReuters 2008).
Russell also has an active practice advising board and senior government officials on strategic governance issues particularly in the context of new acquisitions, de-mergers and privatisations. He has been awarded an Order of Australia (AM) for his contribution to the legal profession.
