To celebrate our partnership with Adelaide Festival in 2021, MinterEllison together with our Adelaide clients, attended the Ngarku'adlu Fine Dining Experience.
Held at the South Australian Museum, this extraordinary dinner was curated and presented by Clayton Donovan, Australia's only hatted Indigenous Chef and Warndu, an Indigenous-led native foods business.
Guests were immersed in a unique Native foods feast, interwoven with stories and knowledge shared by cultural leaders, the culture and traditions of Kaurna, Adnyamathanha, Ngarrindjeri, and Narungga nations spanning tens of thousands of years.
MinterEllison has a longstanding commitment to working with First Nations communities through our pro bono and community investment programs. In 2018, with the guidance of First Nations communities and advisors, we implemented our first Reconciliation Action Plan. One of the key elements of our Reconciliation Action Plan has been supporting Indigenous-owned businesses and social enterprises. Through this work, our people have had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of First Nations histories and cultures, traditional food growing processes, arts, and language. Most importantly, having access to this knowledge and wisdom has been one of the driving forces for a shift in the momentum of dialogue within our firm about reconciliation. As a Firm we are all the richer for every opportunity that we can learn from our First Nations clients, colleagues and local communities.
Adelaide Managing Partner, Adam Bannister, thanked our First Nations' hosts on the night, saying " we're immensely grateful for their generosity in sharing their stories, knowledge and talent with us - and what an honour it is for all of us to share in the wisdom of the world’s oldest continuous culture." 2021 is our third year as a Major Partner of the Adelaide Festival. We are thrilled to support South Australia's preeminent arts festival, which is globally recognised for its quality and cultural significance.
Our partnership with the Adelaide Festival is one way we create lasting impacts with our clients, our people and our communities. It's an opportunity to support the South Australian and arts communities, connect with our clients through shared experiences and celebrate the arts as an important vehicle of diversity and inclusion.
