2 minute read  21.08.2026 Kate Cato, Chief Community Officer

In FY26, partners and employees  across MinterEllison delivered more than 46,000 hours of pro bono legal assistance, worth around $20 million to communities and individuals facing unmet legal need, part of the firm's broader impact across its Pro Bono, Community and Sustainability programs.

At MinterEllison, our commitment to helping create a fairer, more inclusive and sustainable future is brought to life through the actions of our people every day.

Throughout FY26, our partners and employees devoted their time, expertise and resources to supporting individuals, communities and organisations facing disadvantage, while advancing our Reconciliation, Sustainability and Responsible Business ambitions. Together, we delivered significant impact across our Pro Bono, Community and Sustainability programs.

Pro Bono Impact

Our lawyers delivered more than 46,000 hours of pro bono legal assistance this year, representing approximately $20 million in value to community organisations and individuals experiencing unmet legal need.

Reconciliation

Our commitment to reconciliation remained a key focus throughout FY26. Highlights included:

  • 5,700 pro bono hours delivered to First Nations organisations and communities, valued at $2.9 million
  • $1 million spent with First Nations businesses
  • $54,000 invested through scholarships, mentoring and education pathways supporting First Nations students

Through our long-standing partnership with the Australian Business and Community Network (ABCN), our people contributed more than 1,500 hours of mentoring, helping secondary school students build confidence, expand their aspirations and develop skills for the future. This investment reflects our belief that education and opportunity are powerful drivers of long-term social change.

Community

Our commitment to community extends beyond legal services. In FY26, ME Tech Consulting contributed almost 500 hours of technology-focused pro bono support, delivering specialist expertise valued at more than $200,000 to help purpose-driven organisations maximise their impact.

Our people also continued to demonstrate extraordinary generosity through volunteering, fundraising and community support initiatives. Through our workplace giving program and firm-supported campaigns, we helped amplify support for causes including STEPtember, Anika Legal, Darkness to Daylight, and emergency response fundraising efforts such as the Bondi attack and bushfire relief appeals.

Looking Ahead

These achievements are only possible because of the dedication, compassion and expertise of our people. Whether through pro bono legal services, mentoring, volunteering, fundraising or advancing reconciliation, our collective efforts are helping create positive and lasting change for the communities we live in.
