MinterEllison is pleased to announce it has achieved certification against ISO/IEC 42001:2023, the international standard for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems.  

ISO/IEC 42001 is the world's first international standard for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems, providing a structured framework for the responsible governance, risk management, and oversight of AI. 

Certification followed an independent audit conducted in accordance with ISO/IEC 17021-1.

The certification covers MinterEllison's organisational approach to the use, governance, deployment, operation, monitoring and continual improvement of AI platforms supporting legal research, document review and advisory workflows, the areas in which AI most directly supports the delivery of client services.

As part of the certification process, MinterEllison was required to demonstrate a comprehensive range of controls and governance measures, including leadership oversight, organisational accountability, governance forums, risk management processes, performance monitoring and consideration of internal and external business contexts. These elements were independently assessed as part of the audit.

The certification is subject to annual surveillance audit, with recertification due in 2029.
