Held at the Hyatt Regency in Sydney, the Australian LGBTI Inclusion Awards attracted over 730 attendees to celebrate and award Australia’s top organisations for LGBTI Inclusion based on the results of the AWEI.

Only 14 organisations received the Gold Employer honour, with MinterEllison being one of only two law firms to earn the status.

The awards, regarded by many as a must-attend event on the LGBTI Calendar, also recognised the leaders, individuals and networks that have made a significant impact on LGBTI inclusion within their workplaces.

MinterEllison was an AWEI Silver Employer in 2018, and had set itself a target to become an AWEI Gold Employer by 2020.

Annette Kimmitt, MinterEllison CEO and Managing Partner, attended the event and said that a steadfast commitment to inclusion is key to a successful workplace.

“When we foster diversity in our approaches and ideas, the more creative our thinking is, and the more impactful our solutions become,” Ms Kimmitt said.

The event was attended by CEOs, dignitaries, senior executives and members of LGBTI employee networks from a range of industry sectors.
