    MinterEllison has advised Warner Bros. Discovery on the Australian competition aspects of the US$110 billion (A$156 billion) merger between Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery, one of the most significant media and entertainment transactions in history. 

    The deal, which has also received sign off from the United States Department of Justice, will unite two iconic Hollywood studios.  

    Led by Geoff Carter, Practice Group Leader, Competition Law, the firm helped secure Phase 1 clearance under the ACCC’s new mandatory and suspensory merger control regime, working alongside global counsel Covington & Burling. 

    The transaction is among the largest to have been assessed under the reformed regime to date.
