I regularly act for various national health boards in vocational disciplinary proceedings and have substantial experience in employment law, acting for employers in a wide range of disputes concerning employees and contractors.

I regularly appear in proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia, Federal Circuit Court of Australia, District Court of Western Australia, Supreme Court of Western Australia, Fair Work Commission, Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission and State Administrative Tribunal, including appearing at hearings and mediations. I understand the strategic and commercial value to my clients of achieving early outcomes in disputes, and have extensive experience in negotiations and all forms of alternative dispute resolution.

  • Acted for state and national health regulatory boards in professional disciplinary proceedings for more than a decade, involving the performance or conduct of registered health practitioners.
  • Represented insurers and private sector organisations in discrimination complaints and proceedings in the State Administrative Tribunal, Federal Circuit Court of Australia and Federal Court of Australia, and in appellate proceedings.
  • Acted for a government agency and health board in proceedings commenced in the Federal Court of Australia by a health practitioner who alleged misleading and deceptive conduct, defamation and injurious falsehood by reason of the imposition of a condition imposed on his registration. I also acted in a subsequent appeal.
  • Acted for a healthcare provider in defending a Federal Court claim for discrimination, breach of privacy, confidence, trust, contract, invasion of privacy, failure to afford procedural fairness, defamation, unfair dismissal, and other breaches of legislation.
