  • Acted in some of Western Australia’s most significant insurance and tort cases, including Zurich Australian Insurance v Metals & Minerals Insurance, Newcrest Mining v Thornton and AME Hospitals v Dixon in the High Court of Australia and Speno Rail Maintenance Australia v Hamersley Iron and Barr v Farrell in the Western Australia Court of Appeal
  • Advised the successful party to a House of Lords appeal arising from a catastrophic multi-fatality explosion on an oil platform in the North Sea, including providing detailed advice on the extent to which the Australian common law on insurance, indemnities and sureties has diverged from the common law of England
  • Represented the reinsurer of a government instrumentality following a series of incidents that culminated in a catastrophic injury and became the subject of significant media attention, allegedly caused by inadequate adverse event surveillance under a state-wide public health initiative
