Nevin Agnew is an alternative dispute resolution specialist focussing on insurance and commercial litigation.

I advise insurers, private companies and government clients in strategic insurance and regulatory-related matters.

My expertise includes claims and claims management, professional indemnity for medical defence organisations, solicitors, accountants, architects, valuers and engineers, policy drafting and interpretation. I also provide strategic interpretation advice and appears for public sector clients before the Courts. I also have a special interest in aviation, acting as Counsel in aviation crashes.

I have acted in large class actions in Federal Court, appeared as Counsel before Coronial inquests, and I also worked on the project to create Comcover, the Federal Government self-managed insurance scheme.

Some of my long-standing clients include Alliance and GIO/Suncorp, Australian Transport Safety Bureau, the Department of Defence, Department of Infrastructure and Transport, and major Medical Defence Organisations.

I am a Fellow of the Australian Insurance Institute, and member of the ACT Australian Medical Association’s legal committee.
