Working with Australian and international companies at the highest levels, Leigh advises on directors' duties, continuous disclosure obligations, and compliance with Australia's Corporations Act and other laws affecting corporations.

Leigh's involvement and unique insight into the mining industry began while acting for Ranger Uranium Mining during the high profile Ranger Environmental Inquiry. His work with mining companies on capital raisings, joint ventures and acquisitions has been a major part of his corporate practice. Leigh has also acted on many major mining projects including the formation of the Lihir Gold Project.

Leigh has acted on IPOs and for ASX listed corporations over many years and is a well known advisor on equity capital market transactions for both issuers and underwriters. He led Minter Ellison teams on IPOs for AMP, Optus ,Westfield America Trust, and Transfield Services. He also regularly acts for ASX listed corporations undertaking rights issues or placements.

Leigh has a formidable reputation in both public takeovers (including by schemes of arrangement) and private mergers and acquisitions. He has led numerous headline deals for major Australian and international corporations. His recent transactions include acting for Wilmar on the acquisition of CSR Sugar, acting for ESCO on its acquisitions of Swift Mining and Austcast, and Sucrogen's acquisition of Proserpine Sugar. Leigh's extensive experience ensures that transactions are conducted with maximum efficiency.

Leigh has acted for many corporations attracting private equity providers of development capital. Recent clients in this area include ParkAssist, Mine Site, and St Hilliers. Leigh also regularly acts for international companies investing in Australian companies, amongst them Gallo Wines and Cisco Systems.
