Shane is a leading advisor on commercial activities across the health and ageing sector. His comprehensive expertise spans strategic commercial advice; due diligence for sales and acquisitions of health facilities including advice for potential investors; advice on the provision of on-site health services and contract management services; negotiation, review and drafting of health service, funding, research, and appointment agreements; as well as private health insurance, funding arrangements, and informed financial consent advice. Shane's experience includes coronial inquests and police investigations into patient or resident deaths; management of complaints, investigations and conciliations; health practitioner registration board complaints, investigations and disciplinary action; police investigation of criminal complaints made against individual health practitioners; and responding to the Complaints Investigation Scheme process for aged care providers. Notably, Shane acted in the 2005 Queensland Public Hospitals Commission of Inquiry.

His broad experience includes defence of medical malpractice, product liability, public and general liability claims; management of multiple claims, class actions and portfolios on a national basis; and applications to perform medical procedures on children or patients with impaired capacity. Shane has extensive litigious experience in contractual disputes as well as providing insurance and policy interpretation advice.
