Our business principles

Our business principles are the platform for Minter Ellison’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) program.

At the heart of our business, four core values provide the foundation for our approach to CSR across the whole firm: integrity and trust, enduring relationships, balance and excellence.

Our business principles incorporate our core values and outline our commitment to sound, ethical business principles in the four key areas of corporate social responsibility: 

  • our clients
  • our people
  • the community
  • the natural environment.

We are proud to be the first – and currently only – law firm to participate in Australia’s Corporate Responsibility Index. We value the opportunity to benchmark our performance against, and learn from, leaders in the field of corporate social responsibility (CSR).

As a professional services partnership our legal structure and reporting requirements are different to those of publicly listed companies, and our CSR programs can sometimes reflect that difference. What we share with all organisations committed to CSR principles is a belief in maximising the positive impacts of our business and minimising the negative ensuring that we deliver our services in a sustainable way.

We strive to achieve these goals, not just because we are obliged to do so, or because it makes good business sense, but because we want to do things this way, because it is the right thing to do.

At Minter Ellison we want to be more than just good lawyers. We aspire to being trusted advisers to our clients and can achieve this goal only by safeguarding our business principles.

Our business principles outline how we seek to apply our principles in everyday practice as we interact with our clients, our people, the communities that we are part of, and the natural environment.
