Biography
Ralph has played a lead role in building the firm's national Finance practice.
Educated in South Africa at The University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg, he began legal practice in South Africa before relocating to the UK in 1976. Here he joined Wilde Sapte, one of the top tier banking and finance firms in the City of London.
Ralph migrated to Australia in 1981 and joined Melbourne firm Ellison Hewison & Whitehead, a firm which subsequently merged with Minter Simpson, now Minter Ellison. In 1994, Ralph relocated to the Sydney office of Minter Ellison to assist in the development of the Sydney banking practice. He was a member of Minter Ellison Partners' Board in 1997 - 1998.
With more than 20 years' experience, Ralph has honed the skill of designing lateral solutions to meet his clients' business objectives. A large part of Ralph's practice currently involves acting for corporations and financial institutions on their domestic and international debt capital markets issues.
Ralph's expertise is recognised by publications such as PLC Which Lawyer 2006?, Asia Pacific Legal 500 (2005/2006 edition) and Chambers Global 2006 where he is named as a leading Australian lawyer for banking and finance.
