Biography
Leanne heads the Environment & Project Approvals advisory practice in Queensland.
In leading Queensland and international legal directories and guides she is noted for her 'exceptional knowledge, thoroughness, provision of accurate and timely advice and for finding the most practical avenue to progress applications, save months of time and is a pleasure to deal with'.
In the important area of legislative and policy advice Leanne has also carved out a leading reputation. Among her achievements are her advice to the Queensland Department of State Development on Part 4 of the State Development and Public Works Act Amendment Act 1999, which inserted new procedures for streamlining EIS and development approval procedures for significant projects.
Leanne regularly prepares submissions for peak industry bodies. For example, she acted for the Queensland Resources Council in negotiations with the EPA on streamlined environmental authority conditions for mining projects, advised and prepared the submission for the Australian Institute of Petroleum about proposed Operators' Compliance Requirements for Petroleum Product Storage, and is the representative for the Queensland Law Society on a range of submissions to the State Government on environmental, heritage and development issues.
