Biography
Max has more than 26 years' experience in the commercial property industry.
He has been involved in the acquisition, development and disposal of many Melbourne CBD and St Kilda Road properties, as well as in the acquisition development, leasing, management and disposal of shopping centres throughout Victoria for major owners including Colonial First State Property Management, DB RREEF (now DEXUS), Macquarie CountryWide, Lend Lease, Coles Myer, ING, Multiplex, Queensland Investment Corporation, Cromwell, Thakral and ARC Funds Management.
Max has led a number of national acquisition programmes and co-ordinated a number of national leasing programmes, both for national owners and for national tenants and is a recognised industry leader in this field.
He is an LEADR Accredited Mediator and was the first lawyer to be elected a Fellow of the National Council of the Australian Property Institute in June 2001.
Max has written and presented papers on a wide range of issues including GST, construction law and property development, retail tenancy law, the need for national tenancy laws, trade practices laws, unconscionable conduct, Y2K, tenancy default, lease incentives, rent reviews, land tax, site contamination (environmental compliance), valuations, stamp duty and due diligence.
He is a Fellow of the Australian Property Institute and a member of the Property Council of Australia, Law Institute of Victoria, Australian Law Council and International Bar Association.
