Biography
Chris is a partner in our corporate team with significant hands-on experience in construction and infrastructure projects and particular expertise in the arenas of mining, resources and energy. He is the Head of Projects, Construction and Infrastructure SA/NT and leads our African Centre of Excellence in Adelaide.
Chris has worked in Australia, Asia and Africa both as in-house counsel and as an external advisor. His capability and commitment to his clients is consistently recognised with on-the-ground involvement in delivery of large-scale construction, mining and infrastructure projects and the provision of fly-in crisis management.
Chris' advises on all aspects of construction, mining and infrastructure including:
infrastructure sourcing and project delivery – (road, rail, water, petroleum, electricity)
industrial and commercial construction contracts and project management
mining operations from hard-rock to petroleum (onshore and offshore) and uranium
climate change, carbon trading and geosequestration
joint venture development and relationship management
procurement – plant, equipment, services
exploration and drilling
start-up and operations management
production, processing and unitisation
pipeline and multimodal transportation – land, air and sea
commercialisation of production – wholesale and retail sales
crisis management response teams and solutions
farm in/farm out agreements
tenement management and maintenance
project finance, hedging and capital raising
regulatory compliance
Chris is currently advising on the development and operation of a range of mining and processing operations including start-up projects in the uranium sector and has recently advised on the delivery of a range of 5-Star Green-Star projects in Adelaide.
Chris is also the Honorary Solicitor for the South Australian Rugby Union (SARU) which includes advising in relation to the IRB International Rugby Sevens Adelaide tournament. He is a member of the Emerging Directors Committee of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and is studying for his MBA at the University of New South Wales through the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM).
