Biography
Shane is a health industry specialist, with his practice dedicated to servicing the claims, advisory, and commercial needs of his health clients in Queensland and nationally. He has recently been voted by his peers to be included in inaugural edition of Best Lawyers International 2008®: Australia in the areas of medical malpractice and health and aged care.
Shane and his team of experienced lawyers provide a full service to the health sector, including medical malpractice claims, major incident investigation and risk management, coronial inquests, disciplinary matters and investigation of clinical competency, patient safety initiatives, advisory work on a wide range of legal and commercial issues impacting upon clients in the health sector, as well as commercial advice and agreements.
Risk management is a key feature of Shane's practice, and he maintains an on call service for a number of health care organisations to provide immediate legal assistance for major incidents and urgent matters.
As relationship partner for the firm's health clients, Shane delivers practical and commercial solutions for our clients that involves co-ordination with our other specialist partners to service our client's corporate and commercial, property and infrastructure, employment, intellectual property and other needs. This approach results in a service tailored to the specific needs of our health clients.
Shane's clients include public and private hospitals, government health departments, individual health care professionals, international and local insurers, pathology and radiology providers, aged care facilities, health professional registration boards, industry bodies, regulatory agencies, pharmaceutical companies, and research organisations.
