Biography

Elizabeth is an experienced lawyer with over 16 years' experience in the area of property development, construction, engineering and infrastructure. Elizabeth has built a successful practice advising construction industry participants on project and contractual issues at the planning and commissioning stages, as well as a back-end practice handling complex litigation for project developers, contractors, sub-contractors and proprietors.

Elizabeth's expertise has come from working on a variety of large projects for different participants including:

  • advising on the redevelopment of King Street Wharf, Sydney
  • negotiating and drafting project documents for the new headquarters of Macquarie Bank, Westpac Place and KPMG in Sydney and Australia Post in Melbourne
  • advising Bilfinger Berger and Baulderstone on the Uranquinty Power Station. (Project named winner of the Contractor Excellence Award at the 2009 Infrastructure Oration & National Infrastructure Awards).
  • negotiating and drafting contracts for a new $140 million project with two new 40 megalitre per day treatment plants to improve the quality and quantity of water to the Townsville and Thuringowa regions in North Queensland.

In her capacity as Head of Sydney's Construction, Engineering and Infrastructure Group, Elizabeth is frequently requested to present at client seminars and industry based organisations. In 2008, Elizabeth was the creator and editor of a free online resource designed to assist those in the construction, property development and infrastructure industries in understanding legal terminology and their meanings.
