Biography
Stewart is a partner in our Construction, Infrastructure and Engineering group. He specialises in major infrastructure projects, with particular expertise in PPPs, complex engineering projects, alternative procurement models and transport projects.
Stewart's project experience includes acting on 16 closed or current PPPs in Australia, including taking leading roles in EastLink (Australia's largest toll-road project), where he was co lead on the Concession Deed and lead construction and operations and maintenance (O&M) partner. He led the Victorian Government's $4 billion refranchising of the Melbourne Metropolitan bus system. Other high profile projects described in detail in the Track record highlights include acting for the successful consortium, Plenary on the Melbourne Convention Centre Development and acting for the successful O&M contractor on Victoria's New Royal Children's Hospital.
Stewart's expertise is recognised in Chambers Global 2008 (where he is ranked as a Band 1 Construction leading lawyer), which states his "knowledge, efficiency, pragmatism and dedication under demanding conditions" make him a great strength for the team.
