Biography
John Weber is the Chief Executive Partner for Minter Ellison and has overall responsibility for the firm's operations in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the UK. He is a member of the firm's Partnership Board and leads the firm's Management Team.
Prior to his appointment as Chief Executive Partner in January 2009, John was managing partner of Minter Ellison's Canberra office (January 2004 – December 2008) and a member of Minter Ellison's Management Team where he was heavily involved in strategy development for the firm. He was also leader of the firm's Government Industry Group and a senior partner in the firm's Dispute Resolution Division. John is recommended as a dispute resolution lawyer in the 2007/08 edition of the Asia Pacific Legal 500 and was named one of Australia's Top Lawyers for Government in the Australian Financial Review (March 2009) 'Best Lawyers' report.
Prior to joining Minter Ellison as a partner in 2000, he was a partner with Deacon Graham James (1993 – 2000), senior associate at Sly & Weigall (1991-1993) and a lawyer with Sly & Russell (1987-1993). In 1994 John was seconded to Dublin law firm William Fry. John completed his LLB at the Australian National University. He has also completed professional development programs with London Business School Executive Leadership Program (2002), London Business School Strategy Development Program (2006) and INSEAD Business Performance Program (2008).
