The project, located in Kwinana in Western Australia, will be Australia’s first thermal waste-to-energy facility. Once completed, it will divert 400,000 tonnes of waste from landfill per year and will generate 36MW of energy for exporting to the grid.

The MinterEllison team advised project proponents Phoenix Energy and Macquarie Capital on all aspects of the consortium's land tenure arrangements with the State Government of Western Australia.
