The partners and staff of MinterEllison mourn the passing of Dispute Resolution and Litigation Partner Scott Reid on Friday 26 July 2019.

Scott was an intuitive leader who made a significant contribution to MinterEllison's Gold Coast partnership over 13 years.

He has been widely recognised for his strong mentorship of junior lawyers, and will also be remembered for the positive impact he had on the Gold Coast community at large.

A footy fanatic, Scott worked with AFL Queensland on various Gold Coast projects, including securing the Gold Coast’s first AFL franchise, and served as Chairman and Director of AFL PNG Ltd since 2001. Credited with leading the rise of AFL development in PNG, he gave tirelessly his time and resources to support PNG kids to develop their talent, play football in Australia and represent their country.

On 2 August 2019, Scott's family, friends and colleagues gathered for a memorial service to celebrate his life at North Balwyn Uniting Church in Melbourne, where he lived with his family.

A celebration of his life was also held on 15 August 2019 at Bond University on the Gold Coast.
