Julie has extensive experience working in commercial property law. Her focus areas include advising on acquisitions and disposals of commercial, industrial, retail and residential property, property development and property titling matters. Julie has experience working on large scale projects and in bringing multiple parties together.

Her expertise also spans commercial, industrial and retail leasing, volume conveyancing, due diligence and property related aspects of financing and corporate transactions, and general property advice work. Julie has been listed in Doyle's Guide's Leading Property and Real Estate Lawyers from 2017 to 2023 (both inclusive) and is ranked as 'up and coming' in Chambers. Julie is also a member of the Property Council of Australia's NSW Residential Committee. Julie's clients include Lendlease, Frasers, Mirvac, GPT and Toga.

Career highlights

  • Greenspot: Advising in relation to the A$400 million redevelopment of the 600ha former Wallerawang Power Station site near Lithgow in NSW. Julie's role includes advising on the precinct development framework and titling, as well as acting for Greenspot in relation to the development agreement and long term lease to Shell Energy for a new Battery Energy Storage System.
  • Mirvac: Advising Mirvac on the disposal of Stanhope Village shopping centre for $158m, Tramsheds Shopping Centre for $52 and Quay West retail and car park for $52m.
  • Mirvac: Securing of development rights for Mirvac via Project Delivery Agreements over mixed use development sites in Chatswood and Canterbury. Julie's role included extensive property due diligence and drafting and negotiating the Project Delivery Agreements.
  • Frasers: Advising on the acquisition of Buildings A and C at Rhodes Corporate Park for $161m.
  • Stockland: Acted for Stockland on the securing of development rights via development agreement and a long term lease arrangement of a high rise retirement village and aged care development site at Epping. Julie's role included drafting, negotiating and finalising the development agreement and long term lease arrangements with the landowner.
  • Quintessential Equity: Acted for Quintessential Equity on its $115m acquisition of Riverview Business Park at North Ryde. This transaction was Quintessential Equity's largest acquisition out of its recently launched $300m blind fund.
  • LK Property Group: Acted for LK Property Group on the acquisition of a large residential development site at Rouse Hill for $33m including extensive property due diligence and drafting, negotiating and completing the transaction documents.
  • Toga: Acting for Toga on the retail and commercial leasing of its current developments at Surry Hills and Green Square, including preparation of the suite of proforma documents and negotiating and finalising leasing transactions.
  • Campbells Cove Redevelopment: Acting for the developer/tenant regarding the redevelopment and lease from SHFA of the Campbell's Cove restaurant precinct at The Rocks. Through this project we assisted in achieving both parties' strategy for the redevelopment and long term use of the Campbell's Cove restaurant precinct and maintenance of the significant heritage value of the site.
