Greyhound Resources sales

MinterEllison Tax assisted Greyhound Australia Pty Ltd in the sale of its ‘Greyhound Resources’ business which provides bussing and coach transportation services for customers in the mining and resources sector. We provided tax advice and assistance with the tax drafting in relation to both the share sale deed and restructure agreement. Our role included ensuring that the companies being retained by Greyhound Australia Pty Ltd obtained a clear exit from the tax consolidated group of which the Target was the head company, as well as advising on the tax implications of the deferred consideration arrangements entered into as part of the transaction.

Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) – FIFA Women's World Cup 2023

MinterEllison assisted FIFA with its tax and structuring requirements to successfully deliver the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 competition across Australia and New Zealand. Aspects of work include: Obtaining Australian income tax exemptions for FIFA and the local entity relating to the delivery and operation of the FWWC 2023; Assisting with establishing the local legal structure and funding models for FIFA and advising on their subsequent tax and transfer pricing implications; Providing tax and transfer pricing related advice on a wide range of issues including agreements, contracts, governance models, prize money, transfer of goods and services, online ticket sales and taxation of foreign sportspersons and support staff; and, working closely with Treasury and the ATO to obtain the necessary tax and legal outcomes, and provide guidance for entities involved in the delivery of the FWWC 2023.
