MinterEllison continues Private Capital momentum with senior appointments

2 minute read  26.02.2026

MinterEllison has continued to build depth in its Private Capital capability following the arrival of Lee Horan as Head of the firm’s Private Capital practice with the recent hires of leveraged finance specialists Victor Salman and Kieran McMonagle as Special Counsels in Sydney.

The appointments further enhance MinterEllison’s ability to support clients across complex private capital transactions.

Victor and Kieran bring deep experience advising private equity sponsors, corporate borrowers, financial institutions, credit funds and other lenders on complex leveraged and acquisition finance transactions. Both return to MinterEllison from Gilbert+Tobin’s Banking team, where they advised leading domestic and international private equity sponsors and their financing sources on high profile sponsor led acquisitions and divestments, as well as a range of other complex debt financing transactions.

As part of the firm’s Leveraged Finance team, Victor and Kieran will work closely with Geoff Earl and Leigh De Jong and the broader Private Capital team including Lee Horan, Kimberley Low and Nick Kipriotis. Together with teams across the national Corporate M&A/Capital Markets practice, they will support clients across the full deal lifecycle from acquisition and financing through to exit.

Commenting on the team’s momentum, Jeremy Blackshaw, Managing Partner - Capital Markets and Corporate at MinterEllison, said:

Building depth in our Private Equity, Finance and M&A capability is a critical part of strengthening our offering to Private Capital clients. Lee’s arrival this month, combined with the appointments of Victor and Kieran, reflects our continued investment in this space and strengthens our ability to support clients as deal structures, financing conditions and execution risk continue to evolve.”

Con Boulougouris, Head of M&A, added:

Our refreshed Private Equity strategy is aligned with international developments we are seeing in New York and London, and is firmly grounded in the evolution of the broader private capital ecosystem. As Private Credit, Family Offices, Pension Funds and Sovereign Wealth Funds take on an increasingly central role in Private Equity deals, our long standing advisory relationships with these capital providers, and the continued strengthening of our Private Markets bench, set us apart in the market.”

The Sydney appointments further reinforce the firm’s Private Equity strategy, as sponsors navigate increasingly complex deal structures, debt financing products and regulatory considerations.
