The firm’s immediate past Chair, Gillian Brown heads our Queensland Finance team. She is a leading corporate and project lawyer with extensive experience in energy and resources, infrastructure and construction project financing.
Gillian advises infrastructure funds, listed companies, banks, universities and government agencies on wide-ranging project financings spanning wind farms, power stations, ports, hospitals, mines and refineries, major property and tourism developments.
She has particular expertise in public sector borrowing and debt capital markets.
Notably, Gillian’s three years as Chair saw the firm increase its strategic-level work for Top 100 clients, achieve record growth, and gain recognition for its commitment to corporate social responsibility.
Some long-standing clients include all four major Australian banks and Infrastructure Capital Group.
A recipient of CFO Magazine’s Project Finance Deal of the Year award, Gillian’s pre-eminent banking and finance expertise is widely noted in leading industry guides.
She is a member of the capital markets board of Queensland Treasury Corporation and a director of Australian Rail Track Corporation.

Advised on the financing arrangements for the acquisition of seven Queensland Government-owned office buildings in the Brisbane CBD for A$561.9 million, by funds controlled by Queensland Investment Corporation and QSuper. As well as documenting and negotiating the financing arrangements, we assisted the financiers with due diligence of the underlying sale and leasing documentation.
