Joseph has extensive experience in transactions involving aged care facilities. He is familiar with the regulatory and commercial issues confronting buyers and sellers, including areas of focus for due diligence, consents and approvals, transfers of bed licences, residents' agreements, and accommodation bonds. Recently, Joseph acted for Healthscope on its proposed entry into the aged care sector, and BCP Private Equity in the sale of a number of its aged care facilities.

Joseph brings strong commercial instincts and technical expertise to his specialist practice in public company mergers and acquisitions including mergers by scheme of arrangement. His recent deals include advising Healthscope on the A$2.7 billion acquisition via scheme of arrangement by The Carlyle Group and TPG Capital, advising Golden Circle in its acquisition via scheme of arrangement by Heinz and advising Danks in its off-market takeover by Woolworths.

Joseph also has extensive private mergers and acquisitions experience including the recent sale by Village Roadshow of its Sydney Attractions Group to Merlin Entertainments.

Joseph has a strong practice acting for both corporate and private equity clients in private equity transactions, including acquisitions and divestments. He has recent acted in a number of private equity deals for Healthscope, Costa Group, Redflex, Golden Circle, and BCP Private Equity.
