John Weber is Chief Executive Partner with overall responsibility for the firm's global operations including Australia, New Zealand, Greater China, Mongolia and the UK. He is a member of the firm's Partnership Board and leads the Management Team.
As Chief Executive Partner, John has driven the firm's global strategic initiatives. This has focussed on further developing the firm's regional influence and ensuring that Minter Ellison is recognised as the law firm of choice in the Asia Pacific region.
Prior to his appointment as Chief Executive Partner in 2009, John was an office managing partner, Government Industry Group leader and a senior partner in the firm's Dispute Resolution Division. For a number of years he has been recognised as one of Australia's top lawyers in Best Lawyers and as a key legal advisor to corporate and government organisations.
John joined Minter Ellison as a partner in 2000 and worked as a disputes lawyer providing high level strategic legal advice, dispute mediation, neutral evaluations, multi-jurisdictional commercial litigation and arbitrations in Australia and many other countries. John has also conducted statutory inquiries for government.
John completed his LLB at the Australian National University. He has undertaken professional development programs with the London Business School (Executive Leadership Program, Strategy Development Program) and INSEAD (Business Performance Program).
