What attracted you to MinterEllison Flex?

I was working on a construction project and was envious of the non-lawyers in the team who were employed as contractors and seemed to have a better work life balance. When I discovered I could do the same thing as a lawyer, and do it through MinterEllison Flex, it was an easy decision.

What do you most like about working In-House?

It can be easier to give advice when you are in-house, because you develop a detailed understanding of the business over time and have access to people who can explain technical issues to you.

What are the challenges of working In-House?

While remote support is always available it's not the same level of support you have working at a firm, with partners and other lawyers to run things past.

Do you have a view on any emerging trends in your area of practice?

Despite there being a boom in construction and infrastructure at the moment, a number of contractors have become insolvent recently. This might be a sign of contractors over extending themselves

Fun fact about you?

I have just finished moving house for the seventh time in five years. The biggest downside of being a serial mover, apart from the moving itself, is having to attach extra pages of addresses when filling out forms!
