Leading Construction Disputes Partner joins MinterEllison

Australia's leading independent law firm, MinterEllison, is delighted to announce the pending arrival of renowned national market leader in disputes, Peter Pether, to the partnership. Peter will join MinterEllison in January 2025.

A pre-eminent construction litigation practitioner, Peter is known for advising on highly complex litigious matters in construction, engineering, resources, and infrastructure.  

Bringing extensive experience, some of the high-profile matters Peter has advised on include:  

  • Acting for Transport for NSW on the $1.8 billion Sydney Light Rail construction dispute. 
  • Advising several contractors on a major public bank guarantee injunction cases.  
  • Acting for CPB Contractors and Hansen Yunken on the long running Royal Adelaide Hospital PPP case .  
  • ICC international arbitration proceedings in relation to the construction of a major LNG project evolving claims in excess of AU$500 million.  
  • Advising project sponsors on a dispute regarding Australia's first thermal waste-to-energy facility in Western Australia.  

Peter is currently a partner at King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) where he has been instrumental in broadening and deepening their key client relationships and elevating the construction disputes brand in the market.
