MinterEllison has announced its appointment of Jason McQuillen who will lead the firm’s Optimise team within Consulting. Jason brings a wealth of experience spanning two decades across Australia, the UK, and South Africa and has a track record of driving innovation and transformation in the legal industry.

Jason started his career at MinterEllison and since then, has held leadership roles at big four firms, and legal start-ups, working with inhouse legal teams at large corporates to modernise and digitise their functions. Most recently, Jason was Head of Legal Operations Transformation Services for APAC at KPMG, where he built and led a high-performing, Band One Chambers-ranked capability advising regional and global clients.

This move underscores MinterEllison’s commitment to offering clients a complementary consulting offering, aligned directly to client demand, bridging best practice consulting with deep understanding of the challenges facing inhouse legal functions. The firm’s Optimise offering provides innovative, responsive, and proactive solutions to clients looking to embrace AI innovations, digital transformation and broader efficiency opportunities in an increasingly complex operating landscape.

Reflecting on his decision to rejoin MinterEllison, Jason said: "MinterEllison’s commitment to innovation, particularly their deep and continuing investment in AI, resonates deeply with my team's approach to legal transformation. I am excited to return and lead the Optimise Practice as we help our clients navigate their biggest changes in an evolving regulatory and technological landscape."

Virginia Briggs, CEO & Managing Partner of MinterEllison said: "Jason’s return to MinterEllison marks further growth for our consultancy practice. He and his team's technical expertise, and deep industry relationships will help to deliver excellent outcomes for our clients as they look to grow and innovate their businesses."

This announcement builds on the firm's recent arrival of seven Consulting partners in October. Jason joins the MinterEllison Partnership on Monday, 2 December 2024.
