Growthpoint is an ASX-listed real estate investment trust or A-REIT, with a mandate to invest in Australian office, industrial and retail real property with a portfolio currently worth $3.9 billion.

MinterEllison's role included the negotiation of a development management agreement for the upgrade of the ADRC, which once completed will trigger Woolworths' new 15-year lease over the entire ARDC. This required complex all-party negotiations of property, planning and construction issues.

The major redevelopment will deliver benefits to Woolworths, including an increase in size to 94,000m² as well as technical and energy advancements, such as a $2.5 million solar installation and expanded recycling facilities.

The project will see the installation of 3,500 solar panels (1.6MVa system) on the roof of the facility, the largest solar installation in Woolworths’ Australian network.

The expansion and upgrade project is set to create approximately 140 local jobs during the 14 month build.

It continues Growthpoint's recent string of successful major transactions, underpinning its strong recent financial results.
