This years' annual Lawyers Weekly Top 25 Attraction Firms ranking was based on the results from the recent 2020 Momentum Intelligence Legal Firm of Choice Survey. The survey was conducted earlier this year and recorded the views of over 900 legal professionals from across Australia.

The ranking, now in its sixth year, identifies the most sought-after employers of legal professionals. This year's results painted an interesting picture, with some firms increasing their ranking, others decreasing theirs and some cementing their status as new entrants.

“This year has been a year like no other with the COVID pandemic constantly providing new challenges," said Oliver Stofka, research consultant, Momentum Intelligence.

“Australia’s legal profession holds host to one of the country’s most competitive talent markets with numerous legal firms, large multinationals, government agencies and rapidly growing boutiques looking to attract the brightest minds in law."

MinterEllison's top ranking is a result of receiving the most number of votes to the question: "Which firm would you consider a move to if you ever decided to leave your current firm?" The key factors driving this result were culture, reputation, general performance, and specific practice areas.
