MinterEllison pays tribute to friend and colleague, Anton Hermann

The Partners and staff of MinterEllison mourn the passing of Anton Hermann on Saturday 6 July 2019.

Mr Hermann was involved in a fatal cycling accident while riding his bicycle during a family holiday near Port Douglas.

"It is with heartfelt sadness that we at MinterEllison, mourn the loss of our great friend and colleague Anton Hermann," said Matthew Hibbins, MinterEllison's Melbourne Managing Partner. "Our thoughts and love are with his wife Karen and their children Joel, Ella and Tahlia and all of Anton's family and friends at this sad time."

As MinterEllison's Director of Pro Bono and Community Investment, Mr Hermann worked with marginalised citizens and charities around Australia. He combined his legal skills with a steadfast commitment to support the community and deliver positive change.

"Anton in his role as Director Pro Bono & Community Investment has over decades made an extraordinary contribution within and beyond our firm," said Annette Kimmitt, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Partner. "Anton's sense of purpose and his deep commitment to social justice issues drove his professional and personal life."

"Anton's legacy at MinterEllison will endure, and he remains an inspiration to us all," said Mr Hibbins. " As a real believer in our profession’s ability to make a difference in the community, Anton's sense of purpose and his deep commitment to social justice issues has been an inspiration to us all, and a helping hand to so many in need."
